10.8.02    In searching for information regarding the overhead involved in SONET I found a lot of information in various places but nowhere did it sum up the actual payload bitrates for different SONET line rates.  I created an Excel spreadsheet to analyze the problem and converted it to html.  The result is below.  It shows that the concatenated rates become more efficient the faster the transfer rate due to the decrease in path overhead, although the theoretical max efficiency rate is 87/90 or 96.667% which OC-192c comes close to achieving.  I also realize that concatenated rates of STS-24, STS-36, and STS-96 are not utilized (see RFC 1619 ) but are merely there for the purpose of this excercise.
